Page Number is a feature that automatically assigns page numbers to documents without complicated procedures.
Steps
- Place the pointer on the page that you want to print with a page number, and select page number format from Insert > Page Number.
- Header/Footer tab appears. If you want numbering to start with 1 on the second page, go to Page Number > Format Page Numbers, and set Start at to 0. Choose OK.
- If you don't want a page number to appear on the first page, select Different First Page.
- Choose Close to go back to your document.
Tip: To get back to a header or footer to make changes, double-click in the header or footer area.
Note
Page Number Position
You can select and display page numbers at Top, Bottom, Page Margins, Current Position from Insert > Page Number. Each menu provides various styles for the page numbers.
Apply per Section
It numbers all pages of the current section regardless of the current pointer position.
Remove Page Numbers
Click Insert > Remove Page Numbers to delete all the page numbers inserted.
Caution
Restriction
There is no restriction on the number of page numberings in one file or page. When there are multiple page numberings, however, the last numbering displayed on each page will apply when it is printed.
